JUST IN:Makinde Meets Buhari In Aso Rock, addresses security challenge in Oyo asked for greater synergy between the state and federal security agencies

This afternoon, I met with His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari to brief him on the security situation in Oyo State and seek collaborations required for some of our intended security plans to work effectively.   I asked for greater synergy between the state and federal security agencies. Also, I requested collaboration with the Nigeria Immigration Service for proper documentation of foreign nationals working in mines in the state. Mr President promised to look into these issues.

One Confirmed Dead, Three Injured As Elevator Crashes in Cocoa House, Ibadan Tallest Building

A middle aged man was Wednesday confirmed dead after an elevator crashed at the Cocoa House building in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital. It was learnt that three other people were also injured when the elevator at the high rise building in the ancient city crashed. The Cocoa House was said to have been built with proceeds from cocoa by the then government of late Chief Obafemi Awolowo, who was the Premier of the Western Region. The building as at now is being managed by the Odua Investment Company Limited, which is owned by the six states of the South-west. It was gathered that the elevator was being repaired Wednesday before it crashed and fell on people working on it. Nollywood actress, Folake Aremu who is popularly referred to as Orisabunmi, has reportedly died at age 60. The veteran Yoruba movie star from Kwara died on Tuesday night after a short illness and her death was announced by Tunde Ola-Yusuff on Facebook & Instagram.
