The governor made this known on Tuesday 26th October, 2021 during his presentation in the Oyo Agricbusiness summit held at the conference center International Institute for Tropical Agriculture (IITA), Ibadan.
According to the news gathered by eaglessighnews and heritage new who were present in the summit, the governor urges investors to take opportunity of the state numerous competitive potentials including available manpower, arable land to explore the state eco-friendly agric business environment.
The governor used the opportunity to awared investors of no panic on discouraging factors such as bad roads, huge tax among others. He said that his administration has embark on numerous efforts to push the state forward on Agricbusiness .
He highlighted the good roads that his administration has constructed and the ones ongoing which would ease the movement of the investors, farmers and the masses .
He added, that his administration will never use unaware and huge tax to send investors away.He guarantees that any investor who is ready to partner with the state in agribusiness of favourable tax regime.
The governor pointed out many comparative advantages of the state and why investors should take advantage and invest in the state agribusiness hub, Governor Makinde emphasized that the state was intentional in its deliberate effort to stimulate agribusiness.
The president of, African Development Bank, Dr Akinwumi Adesina who was represented by Dr Martins Fregene tasked the state government to incorporate a competitive agribusiness, build local capacity and climatic adaptation in its strategies.
Also, Director General of IITA, Dr. Nteranya Sanginga said the present government has been proactive in developing the state agribusiness with a contribution of over 800 million naira to the sector through IITA and urged the governor to leave behind a lasting legacy
Earlier the Director-General, Oyo State Agribusiness Development Agency (OYSADA), Dr. Debo Akande, said the state was committed to improving agricultural outputs of the state to regain its lost glory in Agriculture and take many unemployed youths out of the streets.
Other speakers which included, diplomats, financial experts, and agric experts laud the agricultural policies of Seyi Makinde’s led administration.
They however charged the state to fully harness its agricultural potentials to strengthen Its economy.
